Butte College Learning Resource Center

Oroville, CA

Buehler provided the structural design for this signature building on the Butte College campus. Representative of the campus’ commitment to energy efficiency, the learning resource center is 23.8% below the state Title 24 Energy Standard for energy usage. The center houses the Center for Academic Success, computer labs, classrooms, offices, learning laboratories, and library space. A special under-slab drainage system was incorporated to mitigate seasonal groundwater concerns at the site. The steel-framed structure has steel special moment resisting frames with a sloped metal roof over much of the building.
