Embassy Suites Sacramento

Sacramento, CA

Adjacent to the historic Old Sacramento waterfront and the Tower Bridge, the Embassy Suites Hotel rises eight stories above the Sacramento River. Built on the levee that provides critical flood protection to the downtown area from the Sacramento River, Buehler worked directly with the Army Corp of Engineers and Reclamation Board of the State of California to design the structure along with its subterranean parking level to preserve the levee’s integrity during and after construction. Driven concrete piles support the concrete structure such that no surcharge loading is imparted on the levee.
