Joanna Sanchez-Nunez, PE
Associate Engineer
It was supposed to be a routine visit with family, but just two days before arriving in Mexico City, a 7.1 magnitude earthquake shook the city. Seeing the amount of totally collapsed and red-tagged buildings firsthand reassured Joanna of her decision to be a structural engineer and help people live safe, fulfilling lives. Helping people is something Joanna enjoys outside of work, too – she has gone on a number of mission trips to Ensenada and Poland and volunteers at youth group events as much as possible. Her colleagues describe her as someone who is always willing to help on a project, consistently providing positivity and fun to her teams.
