After an illustrious 47-year career at Buehler, it is with utmost appreciation and admiration that we announce the retirement of former President and CEO David Hutchinson, SE.

Over the course of Dave’s career, Buehler grew from a small 5-person team to the 140-employee company we are today, due in large part to his first-class leadership. It is no secret that Buehler would not be where we are today without his guidance.

A numbers wizard with a vigorous voice, Dave was an integral part of several of Buehler’s premier projects, including CalPERS Headquarters, Golden 1 Center, and the New Natural Resources Headquarters, which won National DBIA Best Project of the Year in 2022. The following year, Dave was awarded the ASCE Sacramento Frederick Panhorst Structural Engineer of the Year Award, given specifically to those who demonstrate a notable contribution to the profession and region.

We wish Dave nothing but the best as he begins a new chapter filled with family, fun, travel, and lots of golf. Please join us in wishing Dave congratulations on an outstanding career and an exciting future!
