On Oct 9th and 10th, Kaiser held its annual Preferred Provider Symposium in Los Angeles, California. This year, Kaiser invited outside speakers and encouraged providers and vendors to create booths to promote how they encourage a Lean culture. Attendance this year reached approximately 900 people, including Kaiser executives, project managers, and staff. 

The invitation to exhibit provided Buehler with the opportunity to share stories and techniques on our experiences with what works and what doesn’t in the Lean environment, all while absorbing new ideas from other like-minded “providers”. Both Ron Migliori and Larry Summerfield, who managed the exhibit, have extensive experience as Lean facilitators and coaches, and have implemented Lean practices at numerous healthcare facilities throughout the Western United States.
