Sacramento City Hall Administration Building
Sacramento, CA
A new administration building for the City of Sacramento, the structure consolidates city offices into a new facility that surrounds and embraces the historic city hall on the same site. The five-story, state-of-the-art structure includes a full basement and penthouse, a full precast concrete cladding system, and a high efficiency energy system. Constructed in conjunction with a retrofit and renovation of the adjacent historic structure, the two projects highlight Sacramento’s past and its future in a seamless flow. Gold-rush-era artifacts, including gold coins, were discovered during the basement excavation after which archaeologists were often seen on the project site.
