Granite Development Skilled Nursing Facilities

Chino, CA

Buehler helped bring Granite Development’s vision to build skilled nursing facilities throughout California to reality by developing two template design options for the care centers. The contractor opted to use a prefabricated approach for the cold formed steel bearing and shear wall structures. This required extensive collaboration and multiple design iterations to customize the construction details to align with fabrication processes while still maintaining compliance with OSHPD standards. Collaboration was also key during the OSHPD approval process for this first-of-its-kind structural system for an OSHPD 2 facility. The first of many anticipated sites, the $18 Million Chino, California facility completed construction in February 2018.
