CA DGS New Natural Resources Headquarters

As one of the taller buildings on the Downtown Sacramento grid, the new Department of General Services Natural Resources Headquarters is a high-rise landmark that serves as a major addition to the State of California’s facilities portfolio. This new modern structure is approximately 22 stories and 838,000 total gross square feet. Once complete, it will house approximately 3,450 employees and consists of staff from eight State Departments.  The cutting-edge headquarters is designed to include assembly and meeting space, storage, parking, retail, a childcare facility, and commercial food service space. Buehler is utilizing Performance Based Design of the Lateral Force Resisting System to assist in achieving cost savings for the owner while meeting code equivalency for a safe and resilient structure.
