Park Tower

Sacramento, CA

Park Tower is a 380 foot tall, 26 story high-rise modeled after the great art deco skyscrapers of the 1920s. Housing some of the largest corporations in California, it has been a landmark in Sacramento since it was built in 1991. The structure is a structural steel frame with an ornate precast concrete and limestone skin. Built on a very tight site wedged in between the historic city library and a parking garage on one of the busiest street corners in town, the design had to be very compact and efficient to allow construction to proceed. The structural design employed state of the art analysis techniques, such as dynamic analysis, not often seen on commercial projects at the time.
