UC Davis Medical Center North Addition Office Building

Located adjacent to the main hospital tower at the UC Davis Medical Center, the North Addition Office Building provides a much needed centralized location for administrative staff and campus leadership. The six-story structure houses an auditorium and conference center on the ground floor that serves as the campus command center in event of a crisis. With direct access to the main tower, an open courtyard, and dramatic 32 foot cantilevered balconies at multiple levels, the new building emphasizes collaborative spaces and wellness areas for its staff. The lateral system for the steel framed building consists of buckling restrained braced frames confined to the building core to maximize openness of the office space and natural daylighting.
