Ryan Kersting Receives National Recognition

The National Council of Structural Engineers Association (NCSEA) has recently honored a dedicated member of our Buehler team, Ryan Kersting, with the Robert Cornforth Award. 

The Robert Cornforth Award is presented to an individual each year for his or her exceptional dedication and service to a member organization, and to the structural engineering profession. In the history of NCSEA, Ryan is the 4th Structural Engineer from California to receive this prestigious award. Ryan Kersting, SE, is an Associate Principal at Buehler, a long-time leader within SEAOC, and an active member of many other industry organizations. He has over 20 years of experience specializing in performance-based seismic design and evaluation of various types of buildings, and is highly respected for his technical expertise, thoughtful leadership, and commitment to the profession. 

 Ryan has served in several different capacities for the organization, including:

  •  SEAOC President (2014-15)
  • SEAOC Seismology Committee for many years including serving as Chair (2010-11)
  • SEAOC Convention Committee Chair (2007)
  • Current Chair of SEAOC’s Legislative Committee (2013+)

In this most recent role, Ryan’s active advocacy and tireless effort has extended the influence of SEAOC and the structural engineering profession, beyond building codes and design projects, into the realm of public policy.
